LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE IN FORT COLLINS
Situated north of Denver and tucked between the plains and the mountains, Fort Collins is the last city on Interstate 25 north before you hit the Wyoming border. It’s also a gateway city to northern Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park and Roosevelt National Forest. Fort Collins has plenty to offer on its own, including a well-deserved reputation as one of Colorado’s top craft-brewery hubs. This Colorado city is an outdoor-oriented community, with the nearby national park, Lory State Park and Horsetooth Reservoir, where you can do everything from boating and swimming (in the summer months) to horseback riding, camping, fishing, mountain biking and rock climbing. And there are plenty of places for off-road driving, mountain biking, hiking and other outdoor activities. What makes Fort Collins special today is their community’s dedication to be accepting in it’s diversity. The City’s ‘We are Fort Collins’ multilingual banners are one of many ways the City is working on its commitment to celebrate diversity and support an inclusive community, where all our residents and visitors feel valued. The banners were in response to suggestions from community members that a visual symbol of different languages spoken in Fort Collins would be one powerful way to demonstrate their diversity and foster a sense of belonging, especially for those for whom English is a second language. Learning a new language in a town such as Fort Collins is a wonderful way to stand with the community in expanding the city’s diversity and culture!
